EXTERIOR FIRE RETARDANT COATING

SHINGLE SAFE flame retardant dries clear and when applied according to Flame Safe's specifications will last up to 5 years or 200 inches of rain, whichever comes first.
Application
  • Surface to be treated must be dry (up to 24 hours drying time after a rain and 4 hours after a dew). Surface must be clean. Brooming or air blowing may be necessary to remove leaves and needles. Apply Shingle Safe flame retardant, by spray, DO NOT DILUTE. To maximize coverage start from the ridge down working your way across the roof surface. The sprayer should be held approximately 8" to 12" from the surface and at a 45 degree angle (or greater) to the roof surface. The angle will allow coverage underneath the leading edge of the shingle above. The specified application rate is 120 sq. ft. per gallon.
    FOR OPTIMUM RESULTS, to inhibit or drastically reduce the wind tunnel or blow torch effect of fire in the attic area, treat the underside of the roof in the attic, as well as all other attic substrates, including blown insulation, with Shingle Safe.
